Day 40: July 28, 2013

Well, Hurricane Flossy has come and gone with a bit of rain and a  lot of cloudy days. I think God knew I needed to buckle down and do some work, so he sent rain to keep me away from the beach! It worked because I haven't been to the beach since Sunday and I've worked A TON this week! On Sunday, Dan and 5 other med students from USUHS went on a deep sea fishing boat with the captain and one other fisherman at 4 AM. They went with high hopes of catching tons of HUGE fish, but apparently it was not a good day for fishing and the area that they boat usually takes people was not producing many fish for them. They still caught 11 skip jack tuna fish altogether but they were more of a medium size. They had so much fun! Luckily, Dan took dramamine the morning of the ride, so he wasn't sick, but one of the guys did get pretty sick.. not fun for him! We went to the Big Kahuna Pizza restaurant after Maj and I picked up the boys at the Hickam marina and they had great deep dish pizza with a good military discount (cash only though). Fast forward to Thursday night and Dan and I just had a much need date night in Waikiki at the Atlantis Steak and Seafood. This surgery rotation is stealing my husband so it was great to have some talking time. I have lots of errands to do tomorrow because MY PARENTS ARE COMING! :)

He cut up all the fish for them so they were ready to be grilled!
