Day 17: July 5, 2013

After our big 4th of July day, I stayed in on Friday to work on a photo book and take Dan to lunch. He had a easy day because his resident wasn't there, so he stayed in the hospital library working on a presentation. Vanessa, another med student, gave us the idea to hike KokoHead at sunset and then watch the Waikiki fireworks from the top and so Maj and Mitch and Dan and I started hiking around 6:30ish. From the top, we saw the sun set and then fireworks started at 7:45. They were very tiny and far away, but it was still an incredible view. We brought some snacks to the top and sat and had a little picnic. On our way down, it was pitched black, so we all shined our cell phone flashlight. I recommend using a headlamp for next time. We got fro yo before heading in for an early night. Great Friday night workout!
